Born to a German mother and an American father, Alex Rubit grew up in a small German town called Zweibrucken, which translated means "two bridges." His father, a former staff sergeant of the US Air Force, worked at a military base which led to Alex always being around people that spoke English as well as people that spoke German. As a result of this he does not have a German accent as both English and German have more or less been his first languages during his formative years.
Alex has always been someone to have big dreams and visions, and he sees himself as someone to inspire and empower others to go for their own dreams. While briefly studying business and economics at a German trade school, he never lost sight of his dream of moving to the US and becoming an actor in Hollywood. And in July of 2004 he finally took a major step towards this dream by making the big move from Germany to the United States. He initially moved to Houston, Texas as a result of his father's side of the family living there. And while always intending to move to California, it is in Texas where Alex would get his start in acting.
During his time in Houston he would became involved with various local theatre productions. Some of his major theatre credits include starring roles in productions of "The Laramie Project," "The Timekeepers," as well as "The Poets." All of these garnered great reviews from local critics, and Alex quickly began to feel that he was on the right path. While primarily working in theatre, he also landed some roles in Texas based independent short and feature films.
In addition to acting, Alex is also a screenwriter. He has written several feature film and television scripts, one of which became a finalist in the 2012 Screenplay Festival Competition. He briefly served as one of two head writers for a Texas based multi media entertainment company in 2009, where he developed several projects to be distributed online. These projects ultimately didn't come to fruition as the company would shut down due to insufficient funding. Yet Alex still considers this a great experience, as it has given him an opportunity to learn a great deal about collaborating with producers and creative partners on shaping an idea from concept through development. Alex would certainly acting to be his primary focus, yet one of his goals is to also start his own production company as a vehicle to write and produce his own material.
Since moving to Los Angeles in 2013 Alex has acted in several short film and feature film productions. He will be seen later this year in the upcoming science fiction short film, "Normalcy," as well as the psychological thriller short film, "Devil In A Red Dress." He will also be appearing in the independent feature film, "Sophia."
