Biography

Thomas Hodges is an internationally acclaimed artist, best known for his work using the photographic medium, although he also works in a variety of other medium. Hodges was born in a South London suburb and began his career as a full-time artist in 2005, although he first became interested in the medium of photography at a very early age, his father being a keen amateur photographer. Hodges is inspired by female beauty, sensuality and sexuality and quotes Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, Edgar Degas, Auguste Rodin, Gustave Courbet, Man Ray and Helmut Newton as significant inspirations to his work. He excels in the manipulation and control of light, frequently working at the extremes of both high-key and low-key photography. In 2014 he appeared in the documentary film "Le Tre Grazie - the Backstage", which is based around his contemporary artwork series entitled "Le Tre Grazie", produced in Rome, Italy. Aside from his career as an artist, Hodges also works in the moving picture industry, primarily in the capacity of Executive In-Charge of Production. Additionally, Hodges is also an independent educator and journalist, specializing in the subject of photographic fine art.
