Biography

Brandon D. Reid is a screenwriter, film critic, and graphic artist based in Alberta, Canada. As the eldest of four to a single mother, Brandon learned the value of hard work from a young age, but always tried to make any job that he's had enjoyable. He started pursuing a career in film since 2006, during high school, filming short fan films based on Star Wars and Hamlet with his friends. It was at the University of Lethbridge where Brandon came into his own, discovering a passion for writing and analyzing movies for their thematic importance and story structure. Here, he was able to produce some of his short screenplays, including "The Extra Mile," "The Drive," and "Hostage." His sights were then set on Vancouver Film School, where he honed his screenwriting talents and met many people who pushed him to become better than he could have on his own. He worked on writing the first drafts to many short films and three features, exploring every genre that he could, even tackling adaptations and writing a spec script for "Rick and Morty." He graduated with honours from VFS in 2018. Brandon has since set his sights on becoming a psychological thriller or horror film feature writer and part-time online film critic.
