Biography

Gary Goehl grew up in Chicago and since childhood has encountered numerous life-altering challenges that have presented themselves along his path. He is using these provocative experiences to bring hope and insight to people across the globe. As a combat veteran of the Vietnam War, Gary is a tremendous advocate for our nation's veterans. He passionately believes that every individual should take their life's knowledge and experiences to further help others searching for hope along their personal journey. He is the co-writer of the screenplay 'Mister Chicago', with New York Times best-selling author, Jay Bonansinga of "The Walking Dead' book series. 'Mister Chicago' is based on the true-life story of Gary Goehl and his fascinating journey from Chicago, to the steamy jungles of Vietnam and ultimately back to Chicago. He now fights his greatest foes, PTSD and Lymphoma Cancer from Agent Orange, leftover demons from the Vietnam war where he flew 225 combat missions as a door gunner in a Huey Helicopter. Gary's current calling is to bring public awareness to the malevolent mental and physical residuals left on our heroic soldiers fighting for our country. "Never give up" and "Always expect the unexpected" are Gary's lifetime motto's which he adheres to every day. Gary is now happily married to Sheri Cowan with whom he enjoys his greatest achievements with family and friends.
