Sophie is an experienced director of short content and a graduate of the National Film & Television School (NFTS) BFI Talent Campus. She graduated with a BA (Hons) Film Studies from Kings College London. She is a Directors' Guild (DGGB) member and has shown four of her films at the BFI Southbank, among other festivals. She was recently nominated by Underwire, prominent London women's film festival, as Best Director Under 25, and her projects have been supported by the BFI, Channel 4, BAFTA, Creative England, Creative Skillset and others.
After having worked in the TV department of M&C Saatchi, Sophie is currently the creative producer at production company The Wagon, where she also directs content. She has been described by The Guardian as 'one to watch' and NFTS as 'a force to be reckoned with'. The BFI believe that she has a 'bright future within the film industry'. She is now in production for short film 'The Trip', produced by Channel 4's Timothy Root, starring Gillian Saker (Misfits, Ripper Street) and Sope Dirisu (The Mill, Utopia).
