Shan Ullah has worked in the film industry and the theatre as both an actor and assistant director. Having been the president of the Southampton Solent University performing arts society, where he studied BA (Hons) in Marketing Management, he has been in positions of responsibility through his professional life, at a young age, while running his fathers' restaurant business in particular. He has passed his MA in Film Producing and Business Management at the University of Glamorgan, where he now hopes to combine both his knowledge of marketing and films in order to open his own film related business. He has produced a short film called "Shine Bright", for BT's Big Voice initiative, for the 2012 Olympics. His film was broadcast on live sites across the country and online before the Olympics began this year, for which he won the silver medal award. He has also done a brief internship at Sprout Pictures (Stephen Fry's production company), where he learnt how a film and TV production company operates, especially in an office environment. Taking all this experience, his integration in the Asian community and the entrepreneurial enthusiasm, as well as his love for film and contacts in the international circuit, Shan has decided to open up his own production company, where he wants to make content for the mass audience, and also allow minority groups break into the industry. He has taken a short to the AFI film festivals in Cannes and the Hamptons, which he wrote, acted and produced, getting a great response and will receive distribution soon, among other shorts he has made. He has recently completed his first feature film "Fighter Z", as producer, writer, assistant stunt director and actor. He has recently worked on the Salisbury Playhouse Production of Bedlam, playing a main character, Dr Maynard. Shan also likes to involve himself with as many social and charitable causes when and where he can; volunteering for homeless people and donating to various cancer research facilities and charities to help fight poverty.
