R. Marshall Smith - Writer, Producer, Director Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Rob knew at the tender age of eight what he wanted to be when he wrote and directed a stage version of Charlie's Angels for his third-grade class. Today his passion for entertaining people lives and thrives. Many years of computer trouble-shooting and consulting taught him patience and discipline. For the past ten years he's operated his own business repairing computers and related technologies while diligently pursuing a screen writing career along the way. In 1996, he gained "net-famy" with his shameless, self-promoting publicity stunt, "Indiana Jones and the Sons of Darkness." He wrote the controversial spec script hoping to attract the attention of George Lucas. When attempts to woo the famous filmmaker failed, however, Rob published his spec script online as the "real deal", which did get Lucas' attention - but the wrong kind. After receiving an official call from the RCMP, and narrowly escaping a lawsuit from the movie mogul, Rob moved on and it's been uphill ever since. So... how does one summarize ten years of blood, sweat and tears in a couple of pithy paragraphs? One doesn't. Just say Rob is a "veteran" of the biz. A Toronto-based screenwriter who has worked the muddy trenches for over a decade in the pursuit of cinematic victory. With a handful of near-misses and false starts, Rob is a prolific writer with 20 feature-length screenplays under his belt. Most notably an official (but canceled) Stephen King adaptation in '99. A multi-talented word-smith, Rob has a special talent for film structure and story-telling mechanics. He's a modern-day warrior and student of life who's poised to breakout at any second. His scripts are receiving enthusiastic feedback and interest from the industry at home and in Hollywood.
