James Scanlan

James Michael Patrick Scanlan was born and raised in Cork City, Ireland. He grew up living with his mother, aunt, nana and granddad. From a very young age, James's mother videotaped his families life, it is there that he fell in love with cameras. James always loved making videos using the old video recorder with his granddad, but it wasn't until 2010 that James owned his first camera, the same year he discovered YouTube. From there James has gone on to study film, start his own production company "Scan Productions" and written, directed and produced many short films. James's first short film he wrote and directed was Manners (2016), the same year he produced and shot Smile (2016). James hopes to go on to study film further in late 2016.
