Biography

After graduating in 2008 from Galatasaray University (Istanbul) with a major in film studies, he has written and directed three short films, and has worked on others as director of photography. His short documentary "Parallels" (2008), produced in Canada for National Film Board of Canada, was in competition in several short film festivals. He is the assistant director of "Remake, Remix, Rip Off" a documentary about Turkish Yesilcam cinema produced for ZDF's "Das kleine fernsehspiel." He has directed a feature-length documentary about "arabesque" music and culture in Turkey for Franco-German television ARTE in 2010. This film has won the best first documentary award at the 48th International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival. He obtained his MA degree from Istanbul Bilgi University's cinema program in 2013 with his graduation project, a short drama called "The Housewife".
