Biography

Candace C. Edwards is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago where she earned her Bachelor's in Broadcast Journalism with an interdisciplinary major in Television. She has been in numerous shows performing on stage, as well as TV and is a proud member of Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) and Actors Equity Association (AEA). Her most recent stage credits include "JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR" at the Lyric Opera Chicago (Soul Girl), "HAIR" with Mercury Theatre, "DREAMGIRLS" with Porchlight Music Theatre (Deena Jones), "CROWNS" with Goodman Theatre (Ensemble). She has also performed with CONGO SQUARE THEATRE (The Nativity). Candace has also been featured in five primetime TV shows which include, "BOSS" which starred Kelsey Grammer and ABC 7's, "MIND GAMES", "CHICAGO FIRE" "THE CHI" and most recently "CHICAGO FIRE". Candace is gearing up for her first feature film as a lead, which is set to start production in the fall of 2021. Candace is the founder of SHE IS ART which is a nonprofit organization that exposes young women of color to diversified fields within the arts. "Faith without works is dead".
