The "Mandarin-speaking Montanan" Davy, Chinese name: Da Yang, has appeared in dozens of Chinese films, dramas, variety shows and other programs. Born and raised in Montana, Davy worked in LA in the early 2000s until he moved to China in 2006. For the next 12 years, he traveled back and forth to China from LA, working on dozens of TV dramas and movies in Asia.
He is fluent in Mandarin, and is author of the book "Move to China". Davy is a feature film scriptwriter, mostly focusing on Chinese-American action comedies. His first feature, "Chinese Speaking Vampires", was filmed in February 2020, and will be released in 2021. His second feature film, "Slant Streets", was filmed on location in Montana in November 2020, and will be released in 2021 as well. Most of his acting roles were playing Military, CIA, special forces, Policeman, or "Foreign scientist/Medical expert" on Chinese TV shows and infomercials. He also has San-Da fighting experience as well as Boxing training. He also plays Alto Sax and can sing Chinese and American Country songs.
After many years in China, he is back in the US, where he started an indie film production company, Kung Pao Pictures. He also has worked as a ski instructor, Crossfit instructor, and Mandarin translator and tutor. He graduated from the University of Washington (Seattle) with a degree in Civil engineering.
