Dan Perkins was born on July 25, 1945 in Columbus, Ohio. He lived there, attended school, married his wife Gerri in 1968 and worked in the financial industry for major corporations as well as running his own businesses until 1989. But Dan's love of adventure nagged at him until he left his company to forge out again creating his own consulting and money management firm in 1989 where he has been since that time. It was in his "down" time on Sanibel Island, FL that Dan's love of writing came to the surface. He decided to take a writing course offered locally in Sanibel. After the first course lesson, Dan went back in with a complete outline, story characters, and the first 5,000 words of his story. He said he already knew the beginning, middle and end of his story, and thus began the Brotherhood of the Red Nile Trilogy. Until then, February 2012, Dan had no previous training, no fiction writing experience, and no desire to write! Even Dan's teacher was amazed at the organization and passion that overtook him in his story telling process. Dan believes firmly that this story was not his: God directed him to do it. And for what purpose? "Hopefully to wake up our country to the fact that we are in trouble and something needs to be done before it is too late," Dan said. In looking forward Dan hopes to leave a mark on America, letting people know that we are at risk, but we do have options. He wants the message to get out that we can correct the way we are heading-but we need to act now. Book One in the Trilogy, Brotherhood of the Red Nile, A Terrorist Perspective, was picked up by Back Fence Productions and the movie script has been completed. Book Three was released earlier this year. Dan is working on a new outline for his favorite characters in the Brotherhood Trilogy, possibly undersecretary Tim Baker. At the end of Book Three, readers can enjoy a chapter of the new book, a slightly different twist, it is staged as a historical political thriller. Down the road Dan would like to see all three books of the Trilogy on the big screen. Dan is a regular contributor to TheHill.com and to TheDailySurge.com He is currently producing five-minute segments called "We the People" which radio stations can purchase for airing. These segments are focused on the Constitution and the rights we enjoy. These can be found at wethepeople.media.com Dan and Gerri have three children and three grandchildren ranging in age from 18 months to seven years.
