David LaTorre

Biography

David LaTorre was born in 1994, and is a native of Columbia, South Carolina. He is an actor pursing his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre at Anderson University. David enjoys Water / Slalom Skiing in his spare time during the summer and having bonfires during the winter. He found his passion for acting while attending Brookland-Cayce High School. His acting career started at Village Square Theatre, when he was cast as Friedrich Von Trapp in "The Sound of Music." Since then, David has enjoyed his 100+ stage/theatre performances in South Carolina. Some of his favorite roles include Lumiere (Beauty and the Beast), Scarecrow (The Wizard of Oz), Charlie Cowell / Ewart Dunlop (The Music Man), Scuttle (The Little Mermaid), Freddie (It's a Wonderful Life) Jean Valjean (Forbidden Broadway), Middle Aged Scrooge (A Christmas Carol), Old Tom (The Corn is Green), Cinderella's Father (Into the Woods) and Nicholas (Four Tickets to Christmas). David has competed and received "Superior" rankings at multiple vocal competitions in South Carolina. He is most proud of being the Musical Theatre vocalist winner at the South Carolina National Association of Teachers of Singing competition at the University of South Carolina. David was also the recipient of the Katie Quackenbush Vocal Scholarship in 2012. He competed in the Mid-Atlantic Regionals in Charleston which gathered voice students from South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, and Maryland/District of Columbia. David has worked on various films, television shows, and commercials. Some of his favorite projects have been Safe House: A Christian Story, Saving Westbrook High, 2011 South Carolina State Fair Commercial and Doritos Super Bowl Campaign Entry. David is blessed to have been a part of such fun and enjoyable on-camera projects and hopes to do even more in the future.
