Taro Gold began performing as a kid in television commercials and Broadway musicals including Evita, Peter Pan, and March of the Falsettos, where he gained a strong passion for music, acting, and artistic production. After living in Japan as a teen and college student, Taro became the first American man to graduate from Soka University of Tokyo. It was there, in Japan, that his love of songwriting blossomed, culminating in his hit J-Pop album "The Diamond You" in 2008 (released by Virgin Japan). Taro has also authored a series of bestselling inspirational books including "Open Your Mind, Open Your Life", "What Is Love?", "Living Wabi Sabi," (all published by Andrews McMeel Universal); and in 2020 Taro co-authored with Tina Turner her bestselling book "Happiness Becomes You" (published by Simon & Schuster). Taro's works have sold millions of copies worldwide and have been released in twenty languages. He enjoys contributing his time and energy to make the world a better place through his long-time support of The Trevor Project (the first national suicide prevention service for LGBTQ+ youth), through scholarship programs, and by supporting animal rights education. Taro is a lifelong vegan and global traveler, having visited more than forty nations and living in Australia, Spain, Japan, Mexico, the UK, and as of 2021 resides in the USA.
