John Dangolli was born on July 17, 1992 in Athens, Greece. He and his parents, Artur and Entela Dangolli, moved to Jacksonville, Florida when John was two months old. He grew up in Jacksonville, and found his love for acting and filmmaking when he was sixteen. It was a place where he could escape his reality and create and speak through his characters and films. It was his way of sending subliminal messages to his audience. He believes film holds a tremendous amount of overlooked power and potential to influence society and steer the minds and hearts of people in the proper direction.
His graphic design teacher from his former high school, Bryan Turner, influenced and pushed him to create, and believed in his art. John and Bryan developed a close bond as mentor and student, friends, and family. Bryan Turner awarded John with Excellence in Graphic Design, his first ever achievement for anything in the arts. Two days before John's eighteenth birthday, Bryan passed away. Bryan's death weighed down on John, which became a defining moment for John's career. Since then, John has been relentless in learning every aspect of film. He has made an oath to devote his first successful feature film in memory of Bryan Turner.
Some of John's greatest influences are Bryan Turner, Leon Myers, Cindy Hogan, Ryan Connolly, Andrew Kramer, Keanu Reeves and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Each of these people have molded and shaped John one way or another in his career, or himself as a man.
John's first big role was in the independent horror-thriller feature film, "The Owl", written and directed by Justin Suttles. Prior to this film John had no industry training or acting experience, except for the projects that he acted in that he created. "The Owl" was a fresh perspective and eye opener for John, where developed strong bonds with cast and crew.
John's goal is to be a feature filmmaker and actor in the professional industry.
