José Milhazes

Born in Póvoa de Varzim, Portugal (1958). Journalist, historian and Russian-Portuguese translator known by his chronicles from Moscow as well as his books on Russia-Portugal relations. He has translated Lev Tolstoi, Ivan Turgueniev, Varlam Chalamov, Venedikt Erofeev, Iúri Buida, in addition to Brejnev, Andropov, Chernenko, Gorbatchov on politics. He has also served as translator to the Russian film industry abroad, specifically to the Portuguese language markets.
