Selena Paredes

Selena is a high school senior who has always enjoyed performing and interacting with the public since elementary school. Her advanced and honors choral experience placed her under musicians such as director/song writer Michael Hopkins-Gross and director/multi-award winner Theodore Thorpe III. The repertoire included Pop, Folk, Spirituals, World, Anthems, and Soundtracks. Selena's passion is singing; yet while training at a performing arts academy in 2011-2012, she also explored acting, makeup and design, and runway while polishing her vocal techniques. Her coaches included Linda Candace Hill - Model/Makeup Artist, Lisa Shannon - Model/Runway Coach, plus Susan Scher - Actress/Writer/Radio Talk Show Host. The agency director sent Selena to audition for a television show in June 2011 for which she was called back to be one of the Aqua Kids cast members. Since then, she has travelled the Eastern United States and to Hawaii interacting with marine wildlife and interviewing marine biologists and caregivers in the field. She works under the direction of the admirable George Stover III - Chief Videographer, Editor, Executive Producer and his talented wife, Carol Stover - Marketing Director and Makeup Artist, in addition to the published and award-winning Mark Sanders - Creative Consultant... just to name a few of Adventure Productions' accomplished team. They even included Selena as one of the singers in the remake of the show's theme song for their 7th season. Meanwhile, Selena is gaining customer service experience as a Sales Associate at Pastry Xpo. The customers and staff appreciate her work ethics but they also have a great time with her energetic personality and "sunshine" charm. The same is said about her involvement as a member of the Vienna Seventh-Day Adventist Church Praise Team and the youth video ministry of the same church called Jesus Mission Films. Even Harvey Star Washington was impressed to have her be one of his hostesses at his Night of 100 Stars Fashion Show in Washington, D.C in 2012. Selena's high school classes include advanced placement and honors-level courses. She has completed one year of photography and in June of 2014, she will receive an Advanced High School Diploma and become a Certified Cosmetologist, with a goal of specializing in makeup artistry. Until then, Selena is actively training with a classical voice instructor, Julia Turnbull, sharpening her 2 1/2-octave range. Her next academic goal will be to earn a Bachelor of Music - Vocal Soloist/Performance.
