Clark DeHart graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Wildlife Science. His passion is wildlife conservation, and using multimedia to convey the importance of preserving the natural world for the benefit of humans and animals alike. His love of adventure has led him on travels across the United States from his home in the central Appalachians to tropical Florida, The Bahamas, the deserts of Utah and Arizona, to coastal Alaska, sunny Hawaii, and the north woods of Maine. His love of wildlife and documentary film landed him on the Nationally Syndicated children's educational TV series Aqua Kids. For three seasons Clark traveled to exotic locations as a cast member. Clark's expertise in the wildlife field assisted him in interacting with researchers while helping to incorporate the message of conservation. As co-host and cinematographer using the unique "Clark Cam" for the show's action shots, Clark gained the amazing experience of up-close and personal interaction with wildlife. Not a stranger to wildlife encounters or filmmaking, Clark started making wildlife films back in 2006 with his first documentary uncovering the myths and facts about eastern cougars living in the central Appalachian Mountains. Since then he has created several short films ranging from sea turtle conservation to Hawaiian reef destruction, which has led to awards from the Ecological Society of America and a screening at the international Beneath the Waves Film Festival. When Clark isn't behind the camcorder filming incredible wildlife shots, he is promoting conservation through writing and digital photography. Clark takes behind-the-scenes and promotional photos for the TV series Aqua Kids, which are used on the show's website and Facebook page. Clark also writes a Travelogue segment for Aqua Kids, giving viewers his perspective of what it's like to be a cast member of a wildlife TV series. Clark's personal photography encompasses the beauty of the natural world and the animals which inhabit it. Clark has written several journals about his adventures over the years and hopes to publish them someday to share his own message of conservation with the world. Clark's goal is to use his knowledge of wildlife behavior and biology to create films, books and photographs which will educate others about the beauty and importance of our own connection to the natural world.
