Biography

Steph Copeland is a Toronto based screen composer, producer and singer-songwriter best known for thriller, horror and sci-fi genre film scores. Originally from Wallaceburg, Ontario, Copeland began as an electro-pop artist in Windsor and Detroit, releasing indie albums and touring parts of North America with fellow artists on both sides of the border. In 2016, she released her solo debut effort 'Public Panic' followed by several darker leaning singles (Little Boxes, Who You Gotta Love, Break It To Me Gently, Love Didn't Care For Me) and the 2019 electro-pop EP 'Dual'. Copeland's original songs have been featured in series' such as L.A.'s Finest, Tiny Pretty Things, UnREAL, animated series Mysticons and more. Commercial works include NBA Canada, The North Face, Magnotta, Pan-Am Games, BOSE and National Ballet School of Canada. As music director, Copeland produced and conducted an all-female ensemble orchestra in performances opening the 2018 SOCAN Awards as well as the 2018 TIFF Gala. As a classically trained vocalist, Copeland often incorporates her vocal stylings into her scores. She studied music privately as well as at the Royal Conservatory of Music and is a member of the Screen Composers Guild of Canada.
