Mauricio Ventura is a Freelance Cinematographer based out of Washington D.C. Growing up in the city during the 90's and early 2000's impacted the stories he now wishes to tell. Stories of human struggle, urban decay and character driven pieces which focus on characters rising or surpassing obstacles that are nearly impossible to overcome. He graduated from Columbia College Chicago in the summer of 2015 earning his B.A. in Cinema Arts + Sciences. Soon after graduating he was hired to Camera Operate for the feature, "He Sends Rain," directed by Jeff Dull and Photographed by Jim Andre. He later went on to DP his first feature film, "Lost Gurl," directed by Edward Wilson. Upon finishing his work on Lost Gurl he officially moved back to his native Washington D.C where he now focus's on collaborating with other filmmakers and is currently in pre-production for his short film titled, "Mother & Son," set to shoot mid April.
