Biography

Jim Robison studied a Bachelor of Commerce with a Finance Major at Newcastle University and has now been working in the film and TV industry for over fifteen years in various BTL roles in production & Art Departments; on major Blockbuster films like Hacksaw Ridge, The Great Gatsby & Mad Max: Fury Road. In 2014 Jim was Co-Founder of Bronte Pictures. In 2017 Jim established Lunar Pictures with business partner Kurt Martin. Recently Jim was Executive Producer of the $35M AUD film, "Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan", starring Travis Fimmel, Luke Bracey and Richard Roxburgh; distributed in Australian & NZ by Transmission Films with Sales being handled by Saboteur Media (NYC). Jim also raised private equity for "Never Too Late" staring Oscar Nominated cast James Cromwell and Jacki Weaver. After "Danger Close" had been in development for more than a decade Jim was attached to the film as Executive Producer in 2015 and introduced the brokers that raised the private equity. During his career Jim has raised a mix of debt and private equity finance for feature films with total collective production budgets of more than $50M AUD. Jim has worked with film makers and cast who have received Academy Award nominations and wins, has worked with leading film distributors, premiere post production companies at Fox Studios and international film finance companies. In early 2020 Jim Robison produced a short film with Alex Proyas (Gods of Egypt, I Robot , The Crow, Dark City) which is set for release in 2020. In 2020 Lunar Pictures completed production of "Moon Rock For Monday", written and directed by Kurt Martin and Anick Poirer (Animal Kingdom, The Babadook, Palm Beach) and Lorne Price of WaZabi Films picked up the worldwide rights.
