Biography

Bhavesh Chauhan is a music video director, cinematographer, and producer based in Vancouver, Canada, who also works under the stage name Crispy Cuffs. He was born on March 26, 1992 in New Delhi, India, and spent most of his childhood in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, where he began making stop-motion videos with a DV camcorder. He later started making live-action short films in his teens once he moved to Calgary, Canada, in 2006. In high school, he took Drama classes and also met Bhaveek N Makan & Jashan Makan in Grade 11. He subsequently joined their production company, Rendering Glint Films, in 2008 and his passion for filmmaking grew as he began to involve more of his friends in their projects. He spent the next 6 years producing, acting, writing, editing, and directing a number of independent web productions ranging from shorts, music videos, web series, and feature films while in school. He attended the University of British Columbia Okanagan graduating with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering in 2014, however after graduating he decided to pursue filmmaking full time. Jewel Fools (2014) was one of his first major productions to gain public recognition after being featured at the Calgary International Film Festival in 2014 for which he was the executive producer and assistant director. Three other short films that he had worked on have also been featured at the Calgary International Film Festival Youth by Youth competition in previous years. In 2017, he moved to Vancouver and channeled his skills in cinematography and music video projects.
