Biography

Melissa Lee Solley is an artist, singer, and actor from Sacramento, California. She began her foray into the arts as a child, constantly sketching, mimicking, and interpreting the world around her, professing at a young age her desire to embody all three of these things someday. She is currently a student at the Academy of Art University, majoring in illustration with an emphasis in comics. She has also trained as a performer, having studied television and film acting with Cody Dorkin at Studio24 (Folsom) and voice over with Sally Clawson and David Rosenthal at VoiceOne (San Francisco). Prior to that, Melissa Lee Solley studied theater for the Visual And Performing Arts Center under the direction of Patrick Stratton. She has performed in various stage productions in Northern California, having received multiple positive reviews for her performances in the Sacramento News & Review. In addition to her work as a singer and actor, she has also had her paintings and illustrations on stage and in independent films. Melissa began showing her artwork in the Sacramento area in 2017, when she was discovered by Mary Lecker and featured as an artist for Red Door Studio Gallery. Melissa has always felt driven and compelled to create and share with those around her. The common thread across all of her artistic pursuits is a love for beauty, emotional intensity, and an appreciation for spiritual authenticity. She believes business, art, and integrity must meet to attain bliss; she seeks to do (and share) exactly that.
