Mark Sposato

Biography

Mark is an award-winning designer and one half of the married, Emmy-nominated filmmaking duo The Sposatos. His feature screenplay "The Eremite" appeared on The Black List's Sci-Fi Thriller list, ranked in the Top 2% on Coverfly's Red List, placed in the Top 10% at Nicholl, reached the Semifinals at the PAGE Awards, and was a Finalist at ScreenCraft. A devotee of hard-hitting, emotionally resonant speculative fiction, Mark focuses on big ideas and unforgettable characters. His short documentary "The Blake" premiered at Big Sky and was named one of the "Hottest Shorts of Hot Docs." It won Best Documentary Short at the Brooklyn Film Festival and screened at Seattle International Film Festival, Atlanta Film Festival, HollyShorts, and many others. His sci-fi short "Hey, It's Me" received international distribution following a successful festival run, with notable screenings at LA Shorts, Austin Film Festival, and Cinequest, and garnered over 145,000 views during its online release. Most recently, Mark co-wrote and co-directed the sci-fi horror feature "Between Two Waves," which premiered at the TCL Chinese Theatre as part of Dances With Films' Midnight Series and began its festival run in 2024. He enjoys teaching his 5-year-old daughter about string theory, going to the movies, reading classic sci-fi novels, and listening to a lot of really good music.
