Biography

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Gisele Jackson learned to love music as a small child. At 12, she became a student of the local live music scene and then as a freshman studying Fine Arts at Howard University, fronted her first classic soul band, gigging around Washington, D.C. Gisele was a Ray Charles 'Raylette' at the peak of his career, after which she moved Brooklyn, NY and went on to tour extensively with Donna Summer and then with James Brown. Ms. Jackson has performed in 19 countries in North America, Asia, Europe and Africa, soloing on the stages of many prestigious venues, including Barcelona Football Club's famed Camp Nou Stadium in front of a crowd of 80,000 Catalans. Gisele opened for Tito Puente, Bette Midler, The Commodores, the B-52's and a host of other music giants. She has performed at Carnegie Hall and at major music festivals around the globe. She sang at the wedding of Morocco's King Mohammed VI and the inauguration of President Bill Clinton, in addition to numerous other dignitary and celebrity weddings. Billboard magazine called her a "diva" on the heels of her worldwide smash (and #3) dance music hit, "Love Commandments", which landed on playlists of every top House music DJ in the World. Gisele was a fixture at legendary clubs Vinyl and Twilo in New York City, Billboard Live and Axis in Los Angeles, The Red Ball in Toronto, and at London's Ministry of Sound. On-stage she was Effie in 'Dream Girls', Bessie in the 'Life & Death of Bessie Smith', Evilene in 'The Wiz', Luttibelle in 'Purlie' and Frankie in 'Carmen Jones'. Gisele's first television commercial was a worldwide commercial campaign for Johnnie Walker.
