Born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Bishen Sen is an Independent Filmmaker based in North Carolina. Influenced by the works of Bergman, Fellini, Antonioni, Tarkovsky, and Kubrick, his films pursue social issues crucial to the contemporary world. His 2014 film "Aprill/Desirae" screened at the Ft. Lauderdale Gay and Lesbian Film Festival and Mumbai International Queer Film Festival. More recently, he directed and edited a collection of short films called "Just Us" based on stories written by teens who were court ordered to participate in an arts program as part of their probation terms. The film screened at the National Black Theater Festival in the Summer of 2015.
