Grant Levi Rettig was born and raised in Tiffin, Ohio to Kristy Rettig (Kieffer) an orthodontic assistant, Micah Rettig an Application Data Specialist at Tiffin University. Grant attended Mohawk High School in Sycamore, Ohio, where he was highly active in sports, including baseball, football, and track. He tried out for the theatre production his senior year assuming the role of Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls. This role sparked his interest into the world of acting. After high school he followed his love of football to Defiance College playing his rookie season before moving to California to pursue other endeavors. Grant became a father to his first and only son Brayden Michael Rettig on July, 10 2007 at the age of 22. His lifelong hobby of Birdwatching "Birding" has led him to travel all over the country. His other hobbies include golf and fishing. He has two younger siblings Nolan Rettig and Makennah Rettig.
