Mansoor Al Dhaheri is the Chief Executive Officer of Al Kalema Productions. He is an award winning visionary Writer and Director with over 11 years of experience in the film industry. A filmmaker par excellence, Mansoor, as many fondly call him, has a vision to make Abu Dhabi the filmmaking Capital of the Middle East. This motivated him to set up a state of the art film production studio with very advanced editing and sound labs; the best camera gear etc. So that films made in this region can compete favorably with those made in the more established countries. As a Writer and Director, Mansoor is passionate about telling realistic stories through his films to create social awareness about vital issues that can help the public understand and be informed about the risks associated with these issues. His films have been screened at the Dubai International Film Festival, Gulf Film Festival, Abu Dubai Film Festival, Los Angeles Film Festival, and Cannes to name a few. Two of his films, Al Biet Metwahid (Unified Home) (2013) and Sarab.net (Mirage.net) (2012), were nominated for the Muhr Emirati Award at the Dubai International Film Festival for 2 consecutive years. His latest Documentary 'Little Sparta' (2016) was again nominated in the Dubai International Film Festival. The same film won 'Best Documentary' at the NICE International Film Festival (2017) in France. Little Sparta was also shortlisted by the Committee that qualify films for the Academy Awards representing UAE for the 2018 Oscars. Mansoor has a keen eye for talent. He often goes out of his way to mentor upcoming filmmakers inspiring them to learn and grow by giving them opportunities to work with seasoned industry veterans in a very professional environment.
