Emily Railsback

Emily Railsback is an American director, writer and producer with a background in visual arts. Born in LA, but raised primarily in a small Mennonite village in Kansas, she now works in Chicago and teaches film at Columbia College, where she received her MFA in Directing. In 2015 she started Burnt Sugar Productions with award-winning sommelier, and now husband, Jeremy Quinn. Their first feature documentary "Our Blood Is Wine" premiered at the Berlinale International Film Festival in 2018, followed by a US theatrical release from Music Box Films. Railsback's work includes narrative films, music videos, photography exhibits and live comedy, which focus on culture, social justice, and activism. Prior to receiving her BA in Graphic Design & International Studies, she studied acting and creative writing at Whitworth University for two years.
