Madina Hamidi

Madina Hamidi started her journey in Kabul, Afghanistan. As a young girl she dreamed of being a writer, a singer and an actress, a true artist. She recently wrote her autobiography which is a bestseller in Belgium. But an English version will soon be published. Her life story reads like a fairytale but turned into a nightmare when the Taliban took power in Afghanistan. Her father was murdered and shortly there after her elder brother disappeared. Luckily Madina and her family were able to flee Afghanistan but her troubles were not over yet. As refugees they traveled far and had many difficulties but they ended up in Belgium where she lives since then. Surviving this hellish ordeal she was able to start studying again, which is one of her passions. She soon became top of her class and gained her teachers praises, who called her "extremely gifted". She has several degrees and speaks 7 languages. Madina was crowned Miss Diamond Belgium 2010, Miss Bikini 2011 and Miss Earth Belgium 2012. She also represented Afghanistan in the Miss Tourism International pageant. Through her strength of character, willpower, hard work and ambition she was able to change the destination of her life. Now she is successful as a model for big fashion shoots and fashion shows. Her career as an actress is going strong as she has worked in several movies and television shows. She has recently landed her first leading role in a Belgian television show and another big part in a BBC remake. She is also working hard on her music and has launched her first single "Over". She has been called the Persian answer to Beyonce in music. She is a woman of many talents as she also designed her own outfits for her video to show and prove to the world that Afghan women can be strong like a warrior and sexy too. She should be treated like a queen and have the right to be free as a bird. Her dream is to change lives of Afghan women and children. She has a project to help maimed women in Afghanistan "Forgotten beauty". With this project she wants to raise awareness for the women without a voice in this world. Because these were beautiful women who were maimed by others and now seem to have been forgotten by everyone. She is working on her second book which will be published in 2015. She is recording her second single of her debut album "SML" (Self Made Lady), which is also the title song for her book, that will be turned into a movie. Her goal is to have an international career as she is traveling a lot and resides in different countries.
