Christie was born in Boston as the first child of Judy and Tom O'Neil. As the oldest, her imaginary friends kept her company until her brother came along in 1972 and then her sister in 1975. Christie overcame her painfully shy personality through performance. As a teacher's child, her parents enrolled her in ballet lessons, music lessons (violin, piano, French horn, bass guitar, voice) and by the time she got on stage for the first time as a page in Boston Ballet's Sleeping Beauty, performing for large audiences had become second nature. High school performances ranged from Glinda the Good Witch to Frenchie in Grease to her favorite high school role - Joanne in Godspell. (Oh Bless the Lord my Soul). Baptised in the Episcopal Church gave her an opportunity to sing in the choir as well.
Always one to enjoy pleasing others, her junior high talent shows allowed her to showcase her talent in collaboration with friends who also enjoyed singing and dancing. Underlying all of this childhood was a pure love of writing and expressing herself through poetry and writing in diaries and journals.
Given the choice, she has found that theater acting is an easier medium for her. What comes next remains to be seen.
