Rami El Harayri

Biography

Rami el Harayri is an award-winning filmmaker, based in the Netherlands. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Filmmaking (Upper Second Class Honours) from Middlesex University. The last couple of years, Rami has written, directed and produced several short fiction films and documentaries, including Behind the Smoke Screen (2013), Never Too Late (2014) and Damp Soil (2015). Behind the Smoke Screen won the Award for Best Documentary at NDU International Film Festival 2014 and his short fiction film Never Too Late received a Silver Remi Award at the WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival in 2015. In the same year, Damp Soil was acquired by the world's leading short movie channel ShortsTV, for TV broadcast and distribution via new media outlets in Europe and the Middle East. Next to his newest animated short film An Unfinished Love, Rami is also working on the development of two other animated short films, including Beirut, 1975. Beirut, 1975 won a Development Award for at the MAFF Market Forum 2015 in cooperation with NDUIFF. For this film, Rami received a Travel Scholarship from the Lutfia Rabbani Foundation in 2016.
