Adrian Hemens

Born of British parents, Adrian grew up in South Africa where he developed a keen interest in nature. As a teenager, his 'backyard zoo' included giant pythons, black mambas, chameleons, tortoises, crocodiles and several species of monkey. He migrated to Australia in 1990 and lives in Sydney where he maintains a diverse collection of reptiles He has been a pioneer in the captive breeding of rare species. He holds degrees in Science, Education and Town Planning. He is the presenter of Adrian's Reptile World, a 13 part television series on keeping and breeding reptiles which aired on Australian television and in Europe. He is also the founder of petpages, Australia's most popular pet website.
