Nathan Barnes

Nathan Barnes grew up in Melbourne, Australia, and from a young age enjoyed watching films which started the quest to be a part of the film industry. With great passion this began at High School where he was involved in Media Arts which saw him create his first short films. His obsession for horror films forced extra focus into the Special Effects side of the film industry which further down the track saw him complete a pyrotechnic and makeup course to help become specialized. Following this he was accepted into the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology's prestigious Media Arts course where he was able to network and meet with artist and fellow film up and comers. This resulted in working on the film Stygian which involved fellow film makers/directors Shannon Young, Leigh Wannell and James Wan just to name a few. In charge of makeup and special effects as well as acting within the film this created his first full feature film. After starting a family this passion was forced to be put on hold but never went away. He has written multiple genres ranging from Comedy, Horror, Romance/Drama and Action. He is a talented individual which is now in a position to focus his future on his passion.
