Thiago Valente

Valente has directed several films. His film "Laura" won the award for best fiction short film in the Brazilian Film Awards 2013 (the "Brazilian Oscars"). He participated in several festivals, among them Brafftv in Toronto, International Film Festival Rotterdam (The Netherlands), San Sebastián Film Festival, and Ibero-American Film Festival. In 2014, his film "Laura" was selected by the Cesar Académie des Arts et Techniques du Cinéma and UNESCO to be presented among the best short films in the world in 2014, and took part in the "Golden Nights Panorama" in Paris. All of these films were considered as cultural heritage by UNESCO. In 2014 Valente was awarded the best television pilot prize in the International Pilot Festival 2014, with the TV pilot "Enfim Júlia", which he directed. He has worked on several television shows, among them "José do Egito", "Pecado Mortal", and "Os Dez Mandamentos", from Rede Record. In 2015 he finished his first feature documentary, "Meu Lugar de Origem" ("Back Home to Stay").
