Having started performing as "one of those singing kids" on a Nova Scotian children's television series (Shantytown), Matt has spent time both on stage and screen. A high school teacher, Matt loves indulging his passion for performance whenever his schedule allows. His first adult role on television was on a Canadian series called Pit Pony in which he played an electrician responsible for almost killing a lead character. Having spent some time behind the scenes as an AD on a few Canadian film and television series, Matt has primarily focused on stage performances in recent years due to a busy teaching schedule. He has also worked as an extras casting director on the film Take This Waltz (2011), learning the job from his Mom who has been working in casting since 1994. He has appeared on stage in such productions as Les Miserables (M. Thenardier) and Beauty & the Beast (M. D'Arque), while also working on a novel. Recent writing activities led to the creation of a companion fan fiction series to Star Trek: Deep Space Nine working with friends and heroes on both sides of the Zoom screen.
