Thomas Weber was born in 1974 (age 40) in Breckerfeld, Westphalia, Germany. He holds a doctorate in history from Oxford University (2003). He has taught at the University of Aberdeen in the United Kingdom and Harvard University in the United States. His focus is on such topics of modern European history as Jewish/non-Jewish relations, connections between German and British higher education before World War I, and the Lodz Ghetto during World War II. In 2010, he published "Hitler's First War" about Hitler's regiment during World War I. An eight-part television series is to be based on "Hitler's First War". Weber's research found that Hitler's war record and relations with comrades were not as they were later portrayed and accepted both by Nazi propaganda or even by otherwise skeptical historians and biographers.
