Biography

Grace Shalhoub is an independent filmmaker currently developing, writing, and producing feature-length motion pictures and series with cross-cultural themes. With a mission to create art that drives social impact and bridges cultural divides, Grace brings a wealth of diversity and social responsibility to the cinematic medium. Grace wrote the biographical feature film about famed Lebanese-American poet, artist, and philosopher, Gibran Kahlil Gibran. "Gibran" was a quarter-finalist in 2011, in the world acclaimed AMPAS Nicholl Fellowship for Screenwriting, administered by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. Grace is the screenwriter for the musical feature film, "Broken Wings", based on Gibran's popular short story and the original stage musical in London. Grace aspires to continue her work on Gibran Khalil Gibran, in order to successfully weave Arab-Americans into the immigrant story of America. Grace's accolades include nominations by the European Independent Film Festival in Paris, the Toronto International Film and Video Awards, the Female Eye Film Festival in Toronto, and the Social World Film Festival. Grace has a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences from Boston College and a Juris Doctorate of Law from New England Law School. Raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Grace now lives in Beirut, Lebanon. She is an avid traveler with a passion for photography, music, hiking, and yoga.
