Biography

Alexis Barbosa is an awarded French actor, filmmaker and DJ. From an early age, Alexis joined Le Conservatoire du 8e arrondissement de Paris for two years and performed at Theatre du Rond Point des Champs Elysées. He also took classes with the Belarusian State Academy of Arts and New York Actor's Studio. In 2010, Alexis Barbosa was accepted to the prestigious Ensatt (national drama school in Lyon). During 3 years, he received full time training in acting, including a workshop at the National Guildhall School of London with Christian Burgess (Gangs of New York). He directed his first short film Le Collectionneur de Cris in Lyon and received several awards. In 2013, Alexis Barbosa played a monologue adapted from the novel « First Love » by Samuel Beckett at Festival d'Avignon. He also directed his second short film MONA with LA FEMIS (national film school). This movie received more than 10 awards and 100 international Festival selections, including Sci-Fi London Film Festival. In 2014 & 2015, Alexis Barbosa played Three Sisters by Anton Tchekhov at Theatre de L'Athénée. In 2016, Alexis directed his first feature film "Pacific Mermaid" in United States and was invited to present his work at David Lynch's Silencio Cinema in Paris. He becomes a resident DJ at Silencio and presents a music / film performance at Festival de Cannes in 2017. In 2018, Alexis Barbosa played in the movie "A Boat on the Ocean", directed by Arnold de Parscau. The film is an adaptation from the book "Martin Eden" written by Jack London. He also appears in the Golden Globes nominee show "Emily in Paris" and appears with Penelope Cruz in The 355. In 2020, he starts his career in US and shoots with Hollywood filmmakers.
