Melanie Marie Portney was born and raised in Paso Robles, California to Denise Susan Portney and Mark Steven Portney. As an only child her family encouraged and supported her life in performance from an early age. At the age of three she made her stage debut as a tap dancing purple grape. Melanie continued in performing arts throughout grade school; as an actress and guest choreographer for the high school theatre company and as a dancer in the Paso Robles High Marching Band and Dance company, Jazz n' Company. Melanie was accepted into the acting program in the UCLA school of Theatre, Film, and Television and attended 2007-2011 receiving a Bachelors of Arts. During her attendance at UCLA Melanie was fortunate to perform on the Geffen theater main stage in three Saturday Scene plays. Melanie is a current member of the newly formed Theatre company, The Vagrancy, (formerly A-Z Theatre Co.) She now lives in Los Angeles working professionally as an Actress, Sketch writer, and Vintage clothing model.
