Jim Peakman was born in Sutton Coldfield in the UK, but moved to Coventry as a child. He attended Whitley Abbey School before studying media at Henley College. Following on from Henley, Jim spent 2 years at Stafford University studying film production.
Jim freelanced for a number of years following Stafford, working with ITV and Channel 4 until he enrolled at Coventry University's media production course in which he completed in 2012. It was there that along with Timothy March, Steven Ringrose, Dale Driver and Nicholas Urmston he formed Blue Ridge Films Ltd.
Blue Ridge's first film "Black Hill", which was written and directed by Jim, premiered at BAFTA and won best film at the 4th Wall film festival. "Black hill" was also nominated for best film at the Newport Beach Film Festival in Los Angeles.
Following "Black Hill", Jim teamed up with writing partner Michael Smith to write the comedy feature "4th Floor Of Singapore". Jim now lives in China and manages Bader Media Entertainment.
