Dave Lojek

Award-winning producer-director Dave Lojek was born in East-Berlin in 1975 and loves the short form. He belongs to an elite of productive and often selected directors with over 666 screenings at international film festivals in 55 countries worldwide. His favorite genres are comedy, parody, fantasy, romance, poetry, and experiment. Dave also directs documentaries, dramas, portraits, commercials, and music videos. Mr. Lojek's works won 75 film festival awards and contests by 2016. Dave Lojek graduated with an excellent MA degree in English / American and Cultural Studies from Humboldt-University in his hometown Berlin before his film career. As independent producer he created 151 short movies in 22 cities in 10 European countries by 2016. Mr. Lojek hosts monthly open cinema screenings in Germany's oldest cinema Moviemento and annual micro-cinema workshops (called KinoKabarets) with his initiative KinoBerlino, where he enables talents to create their shorts. Additionally, Dave works as film distributor, creative writing mentor, and president of a local film association, which hosts several annual festivals and is a member of German national short film associations. The productions of his Apeiron Films and KinoBerlino have been broadcast 3x per week on German TV since 2009 (over 10.000 times) and can be viewed online after the festival circuit.
