Born in Kharkov Ukraine, Michael Sorokorensky immigrated to the United States just before the collapse of the USSR. As an escapee of soviet persecution he holds a refugee status and is fluent in both Russian and English languages.
He spent most of his youth living in various burbs of Philadelphia and attended Council Rock High School at Bucks County. Upon graduating he moved to Ithaca where he studied computer science at Cornell University. It is there that he decided to take filmmaking more seriously. Specializing in animation in his undergrad and graduate years would arm him with the resources and education he needed toward becoming a director. He used his Masters year, while studying computer science, to shoot most his first feature film LOGOS.
Michael currently resides in his hometown of Philadelphia, with his wife and daughter, and happily runs Black Hat Entertainment, in addition to working full time as a Defense contractor.
