Joey Edwards

Joey is a native Texan born in Fort Worth. He grew up in his hometown of Colleyville. His sense of humor and personality drew him to theater arts in High School. Joey acted on stage in several productions. During this period is when he began learning the basic art of film making. Using 1980's camcorder technology and some creativity Joey and his film / drama buddies created dozens of slasher, comedy and creative odd ball short films. Years later as video technology had greatly improved he was introduced to digital video and NLE editing. A far cry from the days of editing cuts on the camcorder and dubbing in sound effects with a tape player. This allowed Joey to pick up where he had left off years earlier and create video and film projects. Although he was drawn to film and video with the desire to be an on screen figure this is when Joey realized he had a passion for being behind the camera. As an Editor and Director the creative avenues became limitless. While in the early 2000's Joey was an early adopter of Internet video production. Most industry professionals learned film and broadcast from those respective points of view and adapted their skills to the web. Joey started his professional production career focused on the Internet by creating streaming video content. In 2002 he got involved with a Windows Media based streaming start-up business called InTouch Video. Joey created content for the beta site and assisted research and development of the production, editing, encoding and uploading process for the back end of the website. This was truly a ground breaking idea for the early '00s. With the launch of mega video sharing site YouTube in February of 2005 the idea of InTouch Video was shelved. Throughout this period Joey honed his editing and camera skills working with many local DFW musicians. Most of his work was on creative shorts, music videos or Internet Marketing videos. Joey works with several artists in DFW and across the country as a Producer on indie film projects for festivals and distribution. Professional Video and Film Producer.
