Alfred Diebold

Alfred Diebold is a German photographer, filmmaker and author based in Berlin, Germany. Educated in Germany, the US (NYU-Tisch School of the Arts) and Italy (Rome School of Photography) he has published photo books, produced films and contributed to magazines, newspapers and important publications with his photos, articles and essays. Among others for the United Nations, the German Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, Deutschlandfunk, World Bank and Süddeutsche Zeitung to mention a few. In recent years he concentrated on stories about Central Asia, Albania and Italy. Besides personal stories he wants to do stories about the great challenges of our times like climate change in the Arctic and Central Asia, the drying-up of the Aral Sea or international water conflicts. His ambition is to see, understand and interpret the world with his own eyes and bring the issues closer to decision makers and the public. He is also a guest professor at the Marubi Film School in Tirana, Albania, where he is teaching documentary filmmaking.
