Inga Eiss

Biography

Inga Eiss is an American film and television actress born and raised in South Africa. She is fluent in Afrikaans, a dialect of Dutch. She has landed roles speaking with a Dutch accent, her native South African accent and also the standard American accent she acquired after immigrating to the United States as a young teen. Eiss loved painting and drawing as a child as well as reading and chess. She was a keen athlete and dancer, demonstrating a marked proficiency for ballet, for which she received numerous distinctions from the Royal Academy of Dance. Eiss began acting her junior year after auditioning for Ocala's performing arts magnet school, West Port High. Her love for the craft was instantaneous, prompting her pursuit of formal training. Eiss was one of six women accepted to the Bachelor of Fine Arts acting program at the University of Central Florida. She was cast in a number of theatrical productions prior to deciding to focus on screen acting after taking a camera-based auditioning class as part of her degree requirements. Upon completion of her conservatory training, she relocated to Atlanta, GA, where tax incentives had established robust production in the Peach State. Eiss secured representation with a top Atlanta agent then made her network debut on MacGyver, playing a Dutch tech on the CBS remake. Shortly thereafter, she was cast in a supporting lead role opposite Toni Garn in Oscar Pistorius: Blade Runner Killer. Eiss spoke in her native accent for this Lifetime original movie of the week which was set in South Africa. Eiss was next seen in the DC Comics hit, Doom Patrol, then in the live-action remake of Lady and the Tramp, which launched the Disney+ streaming service. Eiss was born October 5th, 1990 as a middle child and considers her sisters, Melissa and Christine, two of her closest friends. It was with her sisters and parents that she immigrated after her mother accepted a job offer to work as a pharmacist in Ocala, a small central Florida town known as "The Horse Capital of The World". Eiss loves to bake and cook as well as sing, dance and play piano. She is known for taking spontaneous road trips with her fiancé, Joe Borelli, and the couple stays active by playing regular tennis. Eiss also enjoys taking walks, doing home workouts and practicing yoga. She can also be seen playing an occasional nine rounds of golf. Eiss has received numerous awards including Best Acting/Female Winner for the 48 Hour Film Project Orlando and is a four-time winner of Ocala Civic Theatre's Bright Young Artist college scholarship. Her next appearance will be opposite Jennifer Hudson in MGM's Respect. The Aretha Franklin biopic is set to have a nationwide theatrical release on August 18, 2021.
