Born the youngest of three children of an Army officer, Jon grew up all over the United States and Germany. After graduating high school in Junction City Kansas, he attended Kansas State University. After one year there, he moved to Melbourne, Florida. In 1995, he landed his first job in radio at WAOA in Melbourne. In January of 1996, Jon moved back to his home town in North Carolina and landed a job at WRHT/WCBZ radio as an air talent until May of 2000 moving back to Florida. After working seven years in retail management, He took a job back in Kansas with major retailer. From September of 2009 until October 2010 he was the maintenance manager for the First Sergeants Barracks Initiative on Fort Riley, Kansas. After the contract ended, he returned to Florida where he found himself living in a shelter and looking for work. In January of 2012, Jon found work doing odd jobs for Parker Brothers Concepts during the filming of Dream Machines. His unusual sense of humor and style caught the attention of the production company and had him added to the main cast. During this time period is when he learned and mastered the Waterjet used by the company.
