John hails from Northwest Ohio, where he spent many years designing and drawing plans for custom homes. He loves bringing joy to people, and realized many years ago that he had a bit of knack for making people laugh.
In 2003, John decided to relocate to the sketch and improv comedy mecca of Chicago, Illinois. There, he trained with comedy institutions like Second City, iO (formerly known as Improv Olympic), The Annoyance Theatre, and Comedy Sportz. He performed in numerous improv and sketch comedy shows throughout Chicago, where he enjoyed doing impersonations and countless other characters; whether being over-the-top, a straight-man, and/or singing. He always did whatever was needed to further the scene, compliment his cast-mates, and ultimately help get the laugh.
In 2010, John shifted gears, and relocated to Los Angeles, where he has focused mainly on commercial acting work. In addition to TV/Internet roles, he's booked several principle roles in commercials for major brands like Union 76, Ubisoft, and Farmer Boys. He loves being on set, learning, and soaking up as much as he can about shooting for film and television. His first love still remains the multi-cam sitcom filmed in front of a live audience, where he ultimately hopes to find a home; either in front of the camera, or on the creative side of production.
In addition to acting credits, John has completed a 1 year certificate in Business and Management of Entertainment at UCLA Extension, earning a 4.0. His classes included pre-production, production, post-production, as well as entertainment financing, marketing, and Law; with electives focused on television production and directing. He has also worked as the Art Director/Construction Supervisor for a web series that required a quickly built and unique one-time set, pulling an all-nighter to get the job done in the short window of time available at the location.
So, if you're in need of a easy-going and creative soul, who loves to solve problems; be it helping to punch up a joke to squeeze out more laughs, bringing a character to life from your scripted vision, or helping behind the scenes with set design/construction or production, John is your man.
