Born in Los Mochis Sinaloa, México. Guillermo has Dramaturgy studies focused on Film Directing by Akademija Scenskih Umjetnosti Sarajevo (Academy of Performing Arts of Sarajevo) from Bosnia and Herzegovina. He also has a degree in Advertising by UPAEP, in Puebla, México.
Guillermo started working in advertising as a copywriter for the brands of Hasbro, Loreal, Unilever, Axe, among others. At the age of 24, he started working in Ypsilon, an advertising company in Osijek, Croatia, developing content in different film and television productions in Eastern Europe.
Guillermo moved to Sarajevo, where he began to study dramaturgy focused in Film Directing, while he study, he worked in Sarajevo Film Festival in the areas of protocol, programming and guests.
On his return to México he collaborated with different film festivals such as Puebla International Film Festival, International Desert Film Festival and San Luis Arizona Film Festival in the area of programming.
His first work as a director in 2011, the documentary ESCARABAJO, was selected in 29 international film festivals such as Sarajevo Film Festival, Trieste Film Festival, Arizona film Festival among others.
In 2013, he was selected with his script LA PUERTA VERDE to assist the script clinic in the Latin American and Caribbean Film Festival of Margarita Island, Venezuela under the tutoring of Senel Paz, Cuban scriptwriter of the Oscar entry film FRESA Y CHOCOLATE.
In 2014, he founded the production company GATUNO FILMS and starts the project of his fiction feature BAILARÍN, which was selected by PROMEXICO to attend the co-production market of Sarajevo Film Festival 2014.
In 2015, he won the Southeast Region Short Film Production Fund awarded by IMCINE (Mexican Institute of Cinematography) and the government of Veracruz, to produce ATARAXIA (2016), short film that have been selected in more 15 films festivals like LesGaisCineMad, San Diego Latino Film Festival, Shorts México, among others.
In 2016, he film the documentary BELLEZA ITINERANTE part of the 11.- Docs Challenge of the International Documentary Film Festival of Mexico City - DOCSMX.
During 2017-2018 Guillermo has been working with the multi awarded Argentinian director Paula Markovitch as first assistant director and production manager in her last film EL ACTOR PRINCIPAL.
Guillermo is working in his first feature film called LA PUERTA VERDE, a Mexican - Bosnian co production, winner of FOPROCINE 2019, The Mexican Fund for quality film production, EFICINE 2020 - Mexican fiscal stimulus and EKÁ NAWÉAME 2020, 2021, Regional fund of the state of Chihuahua, México. The film is in post production.
