Janis Andrejevs

Janis Andrejevs is a cinematographer born Riga, Latvia, went to film school and lived for almost 10 years in London; now working worldwide. He is experienced in shooting large scale productions in remote places - Ural mountains, forests, rivers, lakes and caves. Complicated and non standard rigging solutions. He started shooting documentaries and music videos in 2009 and progressed to fiction and commercials. Recently shot feature films in USA, Russia, Mexico and Africa (Sierra Leone). Genres he has worked range from Drama, Mystery and thriller to Dramedy and Comedy. The projects he has worked on cover a wide range: From high end TV commercials and music videos to feature fiction films and feature documentaries. He has a strong academic background from University of Bedfordshire (BAhons Media Production) and Goldsmiths, University of London (MA Cinematography). Having lived and worked in UK for 10 years and fluent in 3 languages (English, Russian and Latvian). TV spots and music video he has shot have been selected in advertising festivals and received awards. Brainstorm - Ogles music video was awarded best music video in Latvian Music awards 2019 (Golden Mic). Lanskoy - Life in a Diffused Light music video received Best International video award at London International Motion Picture Awards (2019). Commercial for VEF basketball team took a bronze prize in 2017 film category in prestigious CLIO awards in New York.
